I’m in what I call the Gathering phase of writing. Gathering for me is like walking in the woods and picking up sticks or rocks or bugs… ok, any pretty little thing that attracts my attention. That some how inspires something. That makes my brain go: yes, this is a part of this play.
Last night my wife and I were watching the movie Enlighten Up!, a documentary following a man practicing yoga for six months to see if there is any… well, enlightenment.
At the beginning of the movie, the director interviewed several people who already seemed to have found enlightenment. One woman in particular struck me. She really NEEDED yoga. She NEEDED the enlightenment she felt it brought her. It was so emotional. So fragile.
She’s going in the play. Well. Not HER. But, someone LIKE her.
